With the end of the Modern Warfare story arc in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, the series starts a new subseries with Ghosts to coincide with the launch of eighth generation consoles entering the market. The game will debut an engine built by the developer. Raven Software and Neversoft will assist Infinity Ward in the development.

On April 29, 2013, the official Call of Duty website was updated with a social media mosaic that filled up every time a user logged into the site via Twitter or Facebook. The next day, the mosaic was completed and the picture showed a skull along the text "the Ghosts are real." Some details about Ghosts leaked prior, especially when Tesco pulled the listing of the game for the PlayStation 3 after it was put up accidentally. Several other retailers, including Target, listed it for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.
The live-action teaser trailer for Ghosts, titled "Masked Warriors", features glimpses of people wearing historical battle attire, among them one of a group of soldiers putting on the skull mask shown on the box art. It was released on May 1, 2013. Ghosts will appear at the "Xbox Reveal" event on May 21, 2013.

It's also the first router on the market to utilize the 802.11ac chip from Qualcomm, as opposed to similar chips from Broadcom found in most existing 802.11ac routers.
In a nutshell, the StreamBoost technology allows the router to monitor intelligently and gives the connected client the exact amount of Internet it needs at any given time, instead of treating all Internet services as download bandwidth at all times (which is what most existing routers do). This results in more real-time bandwidth being available for other connected devices.

In other words, StreamBoost is similar to Quality of Service (QoS) but much more intelligent.

New recommendations, transit times, local landmarks, and more.

Google has dropped tons of big news during this year's I/O keynote, but one (very welcome) update may be the best of all. Google has revamped its mobile app for Maps, including tons of new goodies that will not only help users navigate around town, but discover new and worthwhile places.
The new features, which will make their debut in future updates for both Android and iPhone, focus largely on the discovery of places around the user, finally bringing a more comprehensive "Google Places" feel to the experience. Here are the highlights:
Place Recommendations: Users will now be able to see what places have been rated by Google+ friends, and ones they specifically recommend, in the location's information page. There's also a better integration with Zagat, including badges and editorial reviews right in the app.

Offers: Location information cards now have the ability to display exclusive offers, redeemable right away or saved within the app. Google promises that it has many partnerships with national brands, including Starbucks.
Dynamic Rerouting: In addition to a new, more stringent incident system to report accidents on roads and highways, Google will implement a real-time dynamic re-routing feature to ensure that travelers are always taking the right route.
Google Explore: A new feature within the directions app, Explore enables users to browse locations based on a particular mood or activity. Loaded with a user interface that looks a lot like Google Now, Explore aims to turn Maps into a discovery tool as well as a utility.

Landmarks: Maps will now track the locations that a user frequents to create recognizable landmarks within a neighborhood or area, so the most prominent locations on the interface will be frequented hangouts and favorite places. Users are also able to find similar locations and experiences, as the map will dynamically introduce locations that are similar to the existing landmarks.

A job listing suggests that Sony could be prepping new voice recognition support for PlayStation products. A post on LinkedIn from April 30, 2013 advertises a “Speech Recognition Engineering Intern” and is seeking a candidate to assist in “speech noise reduction, speech detection, recognition, noisy rejection, and grammar processing under various environments.”
Specifically, the listing is seeking someone to handle “robust speech feature extraction and signal processing for speech enhancement” and “speech enhance and processing of noisy speech with human voice in the background.” A candidate would “engage some initial research off signal separation and neural network processing,” “run evaluation and research on keyword spotting” and “conduct some experiment on robust small vocabulary CSR with noisy speech.”

The listing is especially interesting given the PlayStation 4 eye specs Sony released in February, noting that the camera includes a “four channel microphone array.” Considering the voice recognition features included in Microsoft’s Kinect, Sony could be squaring off against that peripheral head-on by including its own hands-free controls in its upcoming console.
It’s worth noting that the job listing does not specifically mention PlayStation 4 and could potentially be for a feature meant to be integrated into PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita (which also includes a microphone) or even PlayStation Mobile. After a number of leaks and pre-announcement ads, Nokia has finally unveiled the Nokia Lumia 928, via The Verge. As expected, the Windows Phone handset will be sold exclusively through Verizon Wireless, and will be available in black or white starting May 16th for $99.99 on-contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. New owners will be getting $25 credit for Windows Phone app purchases for a limited time as well.

The Lumia 928 features an 8.7-megapixel Carl Zeiss camera with Optical Image Stablization and a Xenon flash for still photos, which Nokia already showed off prior to this announcement.
